Vanity metrics are measurements that look impressive on the surface but don’t provide meaningful insights into business performance or indicate true success. Examples include raw follower counts, page views without context, or social media likes that don’t correlate with actual business outcomes. While these numbers can feel good, content marketers should focus primarily on metrics that demonstrate genuine engagement, conversions, and revenue impact.
